The German Radoi Hour started 1946. In 1955 the GERMAN RADIO KLUB was formed to financially assist the radio program. It also provides the structure for organizing social functions for the German Radio Hour's" many friends.
In May of 1980 Kurt Schulze took over the office of Klub President and Curt Kline became the English Speaking Announcer, who was later replaced by Ken Ruhling.
Due to the illness of Kurt Schulze, the radio program was discontinued on March 31, 2003. Kurt Schulze passed away in September, 2003 and Vice-President Edward Newland took over the duties of President.
The KLUB has sponsored innumerable parties, dances, bus trips and tours.
It is also a sponsor of the annual German Festival and stockholder in the Maryland Oktoberfest Inc., Membership in the KLUB is available to those with a love for German music, culture, GemütlichKeit, and friendship in the German tradition.
