109th annual German Festival
Baltimore’s best kept secret is its German heritage, and it awaits you at Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Saturday & Sunday July 25-26, at the 109th annual German Festival. A special treat again this year is die Schlauberger (), a personable, full entertainment group with a national reputation for engaging audiences with German and popular music, traditional to modern, at festivals, concerts, radio and television, and on CD (five so far).
Also for entertainment will be local German bands, traditional folk dancing and choral singing.
There are imported and local crafts and collectables, and, for kids, wall climbing, puppet shows, face painting, arts & crafts.
Enjoy authentic German cooking, quench your thirst with imported or domestic beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages or schnopps; and for dessert have some German pastry or the usual fair confections.
Admission: adults $6, seniors $5. Children under 12 with paying adult admitted free.
Sat 11:30am to 10pm, Sun 11:30am to 7pm.
